Swimming Day in Canada

In partnership with ParticipACTION, Swimming Day in Canada will take place on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017 as part of ParticipACTION’s 150 Play List to help celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday and to encourage children to swim and be active.

The following facilities will be hosting members of the national swim team during their leisure swims:

  • Saanich Commonwealth Place Pool (High Performance Centre – Victoria)
  • UBC Aquatic Centre (High Performance Centre – Vancouver)
  • Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre (High Performance Centre – Ontario)

Two-time Olympic medallist Ryan Cochrane and Olympic bronze medallist Hilary Caldwell will be attending the swim day at Saanich Commonwealth Place Pool in Victoria from 1-3 p.m.

Multiple Para-swimming national record holder Danielle Kisser will be attending the swim day at UBC Aquatic Centre in Vancouver from 1-3 p.m.

Olympian and Pan American Games silver medallist Tera Van Beilen and Pan American Games silver medallist Zack Chetrat and will be attending the swim day at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre from 2-4 p.m.

During the Swimming Day in Canada events, the national swim team athletes will be on hand to sign autographs, give out prizes and take photos with participants.
