Kennedy’s Bio

• At the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Goss swam the anchor leg in the heats of the 4×200-m freestyle relay that later won a bronze medal.
• Kennedy Goss finished seventh in the 100-m backstroke and eighth in the 400-m freestyle at the 2018 Pan Pacific Championships.
• At the 2018 Canadian Swimming Trials, Goss earned two silver medals in the 200-m backstroke and the 400-m freestyle. Her performance qualified her for the Pan Pacific Championships in Tokyo.
• At the FISU Summer Universiade 2017 in Taipei, Goss earned herself a gold medal in the women’s 4×100-m freestyle relay as she took part in the morning session.
• At the 13^th FINA World Swimming Championships (25-m) in Windsor, Ont. Goss individually competed in two events, setting personal best times in both. She finished 9^th in the 200-m backstroke and 10^th in the 400-m freestyle.
• At the same competition, Goss was a member of the 4×200-m freestyle relay, that along with her teammates Katerine Savard, Taylor Ruck and Penny Oleksiak won a gold medal and set a new Canadian record.
• At the 2016 Olympic & Para-swimming Trials in Toronto, Goss followed in her father Sandy’s footsteps, when she qualified for the Olympic team.
• Goss finished 4^th in the 200-m freestyle to earn a spot on the relay for Rio. She also came 3^rd in the 400-m freestyle, and 3^rd in the 200-m backstroke.
• Goss took part in the 2015 FINA World Championships in Kazan, Russia, where she was the anchor swimmer in the 11^th-place 4×200-m freestyle relay with Katerine Savard, Alyson Ackman and Emily Overholt.
• Goss made her first senior national team in 2015, earning a berth for the FINA World Championships in Russia.
• She made the cut with a third place finish in the 200- m freestyle at the Team Canada Trials.
• Indiana University psychology student completed the 2014 season with a double medal performance at the U.S. Short Course Swimming Championships.
• That same year she was a member of the Canadian junior team at the Victoria Open in Australia.
• In 2013, she was sixth in the 200-m freestyle and helped Canada to fourth overall in the country standings at the FINA World Junior Championships.
• She had previously represented Canada at the 2011 North American Challenge Cup.
• Outside of the pool this budding athlete is also a talented water skier and volleyball player.
• Her mother Judy is a sport psychologist, and father Sandy is a former national team swimmer and Olympian for Canada.
• Lists her father as her biggest sporting influence and his two Olympic medals as a constant inspiration.
