Mabel’s Bio

  • Qualified for her first World Aquatics Championships team by winning the women’s 800 freestyle at the 2023 Bell Canadian Swimming Trials.
  • At the 2022 Commonwealth Games, Zavaros finished 7th in the 800-m freestyle and 8th in the 200-m butterfly.
  • Mabel Zavaros finished sixth in the 200-m butterfly at the 2018 Pan Pacific Championships in Tokyo.
  • At the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, Zavaros finished sixth in the 200-m butterfly and eighth in the 100-m butterfly. She set personal bests in both events.
  • At the 2018 Canadian Swimming Trials, Zavaros won gold in the 200-m butterfly, qualifying her for ther first senior national team.
  • At the 2017 FINA World Junior Championships in Indianapolis, Zavaros won two gold medals as she took part in the morning session in the women’s 4×200-m freestyle and the mixed 4×100-m medley. Zavaros also finished fourth in the 200-m butterfly, eighth in the 100 fly and 11th in the 50 fly.
