Kirstie’s Bio

• Kasko won four medals at the 2015 Toronto Parapan Am Games:  Silver medals in the 200-m freestyle, 200-m IM and 100-m back, where she also set a Canadian record. She also took bronze in the 100-m breaststroke.
• At the 2015 Speedo Can Am Para-swimming Championships in Toronto she was second in the 200-m freestyle, 200-m individual medley, and 100-m backstroke.
• Kasko also finished third in the 100-m breaststroke at the 2015 Can Am Para-swimming Championships in Toronto.
• Kasko competed at her first Paralympic Games in 2012. Racing for the intellectually challenged, she placed 12th in both the 100-metre backstroke and 100-m breaststroke as well as 14th in the 200-m freestyle.
• She also lowered three Canadian records in 2012 (200-m and 400-m freestyle and 100-m breaststroke).
• Kasko was once again on Team Canada at the 2013 IPC World Championships and competed in four events.
• At the 2011 Parapan Am Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, Kasko emerged as a new star on the Canadian team, earning gold medals in the 200-m freestyle and 100-m backstroke.
• She got a taste of a Games atmosphere in early October 2011 at the Global Games in Italy where she set several personal bests and won a bronze medal in the 200-m backstroke.
